Samsung has announced new versions of durable tablets and smartphones designed for use in environments where they intend to get dirty, wet and knock. Both Galaxy Xcover7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active5 PR
The Galaxy Xcover7 Pro smartphone will be available from May 8, 2025, while the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro tablet will be launched a little later in June 2025. Samsung has not announced prices for one of the devices.
Powered by the Snapdragon 7S Gen 3 mobile processor in combination with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of memory, Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro Tablet has a 10.1-inch LCD touch screen with a length of 10.1 inches with LCD with increased sensitivity to be used with gloves.
The previous version of Samsung’s durable tablet contained a removable battery and can be connected to the USB-C power source and used in warm environments where there is a risk of overheating and battery expansion. This feature was transferred to the new Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro, but extended with double capabilities with a hot amount so that the tablet can be powered for an indefinite period, if fully charged batteries are available.
But although the tablet does not have to be completely powered to install a fresh battery, Samsung notes that it will mostly be useless when swap. “Battery replacement is limited to one battery at once. If the battery is removed when the device is turned on, the screen is turned off and some functions may be limited. After replacing the battery, the screen turns on and all functions will be reactivated.”
Active5 Pro also has a solid grade of IP68 dust and water resistance. The tablet can survive the immersion in water to a depth of 1.5 meters to 30 minutes. It works on Android 15 and contains a 12-megapixel rear camera and eight megapixel front camera.
The Galaxy Xcover7 Pro smartphone also works on Android 15 and is powered by the same Snapdragon processor with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory, which can be developed to 2 TB using a microSD card. Its 6.6-inch touch screen display with a length of 120 Hz contains an increased touch sensitivity, so it can also be used with gloves, while the “amplifier vision” mode makes it easier to observe the screen outside in clear conditions.
Other features include an improved stereo speaker system with anti -agedback technology to reduce echo when using XCOVER7 PRO as a speaker, a larger 4350 mAh battery, and in addition to the assessment of water and dust IP68, it has been tested for use with sanitizers in the workplace, which makes it useful in environments, such as hospitals.
