Will Ferrell appeared in character at the Tom Brady Roast on Sunday night Anchorman Personality, Ron Burgundy.
He was introduced as “a living legend, a world-class lover and the No. 1 news anchor on Sunday”.
“My name is Ron Burgundy,” he said. “I’m a big deal but tonight’s not about me. … We’re here to honor a champion on the gridiron, a great American, a father and a sexy man, a true patriot – until… He wasn’t.
Burgundy began by commenting on Brady’s good looks.
“This man is beautiful. … Look at those cheekbones. That’s a million-watt smile. … I could get lost in those eyes and now I’m that person,” he said. “Ron, pull it together. . You are a straight man. He’s making you question your sexuality. Stop watching it. You are here to make fun of him. Not falling in love. Focus.”
She continued: “Tom, it’s clear, everyone here loves you. I love you, even though it might just be lust. It might be love, we’ll never know.
Burgundy continued, “I can’t wait for you to be there on Fox Sports commentating on the game you love, or playing for the Raiders in the playoffs, or coaching the Patriots, or whatever. Anything you’re going to do.”
He also joked that Brady was “boring” to watch. “I’ve never liked Tom in all my years of watching professional football. I’ve never seen a more boring quarterback,” he later added: “He actually made me post Bill Belichick. Looking forward to all the fun and laughter of Game Interview.”
Ferrell also took a jab at Belichick: “By the way, Bill, wherever you are, I hope, you know, I hope you realize that it was Tom, it was never you. … Remember when people thought it was you. I understand that you are currently unemployed. Good luck on the health care field There are so many jobs. I hear male nurses are in high demand and by your bedside, anyone will wake up after gallbladder surgery and see Bill Belichick’s sweet, kind face as he sponges you off. Bathing.”
He continued: “I mean, let’s be honest. Your best years are behind you, Tom. The Super Bowls, Giselle, your movie career, it’s all over, it’s all over. But you’re forgotten. You will always be remembered as an Eli Manning bitch. Like I said before, we all love you, just one The man really hates you and it’s my pleasure to bring him out here, Mr. Bill Belichick,” Ferrell concluded, bringing out Brady’s longtime Patriots coach.
