Baldwin is still dealing with his criminal case in New Mexico, where he faces charges in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halina Hutchins on the set of the western movie “Rust.”
He was pointing a gun, supposedly loaded with blanks, during a rehearsal when the revolver went off. Hutchins was shot and succumbed to her injuries.
The comedian has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter, which will go on trial in July.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reid, who served as a weapons supervisor, was previously sentenced to 18 months in prison.
In an April court filing, prosecutors in the “Zing” case claimed Baldwin had “no control over his emotions” on the set of the film, leading to a “safety compromise” leading up to the shooting.
Prosecutor Kerry Morrissey further alleged that Baldwin concocted a false account of what happened, including claims that he did not pull the trigger.
Baldwin’s lawyers asked the judge to dismiss the murder charges against him in a motion filed in March. However, the judge refused to drop the charges and the trial continued.
