Roma defender Evan Ndicka suffered a collapsed lung during Sunday’s Serie A match against Udinese, manager Daniele de Rossi said.
Ndicka, 24, collapsed within the 72nd minute and the match was abandoned after he was taken off on a stretcher.
He was Discharged from hospital on Monday.
“A collapsed lung is a painful condition, but fortunately, if we may say so, it does not suffer from what we feared,” De Rossi said.
The Ivory Coast international spent one night under remark before being allowed to return to Rome, with tests showing no signs of cardiac problems.
Ndicka joined Roma on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 and has made 19 Serie A appearances.
When the match was suspended, Sunday’s match was tied 1-1.
Roma is organizing an initiative to supply fans over 45 years of age with free heart tests at a local hospital ahead of their next home league match against Bologna on April 22.
