Tucker Carlson’s comments while opening for Kid Rock during their tour in Gonzales, Louisiana have gone viral on social media.
Kid Rock, born Robert James Ritchie, performs as a part of the Rock the Country tour, during which the musician appears on stage with stars corresponding to Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert.
The tour includes two-day stops in seven small towns across the United States from April to July, visiting Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia and South Carolina.
The tour kicked off on the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales on April 5 and 6, with former Fox News host Carlson serving because the surprise opening act for Kid Rock. Video material Carlson on the show was posted on April 7 on X, formerly Twitter.

Standing behind a podium with the words Kid Rock and “United States of America” written on it, Carlson explained his performance on the concert.
“I came here tonight because I had dinner with Kid Rock at home a few months ago,” the announcer told the audience.
He continued: “He said, ‘You should come and play for me on my summer tour.’ And I said, “Well, of course I’m honored, but I don’t play an instrument. I’m actually an unemployed talk show host, so what would I do on your show?” And he said, and I quote now, “You’ll figure it out and you’ll like it.”
“It was two months ago. I woke up this morning and thought, I actually have to go to Gonzales, Louisiana and open for Kid Rock. What will I say? I had no idea until I came. “
Carlson, who interviewed Kid Rock in December, also said that after waking up that morning, he looked online and concluded that the United States had “screwed up” – until he got to Gonzales.
“The country they tell me about on the Internet is fucked up. The country I experience once I walk through this crowd or once I get up in my rural town of 100 people is a good looking country full of gorgeous people,” he added.
The TV presenter also said that he was attracted by the cross-shaped lighting equipment on site. “The shape I like,” he added.
“When I leave [to the rig], this chick hits me right in the face. She has two nose rings, a cross necklace and a Trump bracelet. And she looks me right in the face and says, “Ahhhh!” And she said, “I love you.” And I said, “I love you too.” And that’s what I meant. And I thought: This is the America I know. A little strange, a little crazy, full of love and beauty. And that describes the man I want to introduce.”
Carlson also told the cheering audience that it was “worth it” to travel long distances for the evening show, adding: “Can you put a price on living free in the last free country? Let me tell you, dear Americans, what we” All gathered here tonight are free men, united by love for country and under God.
“And on behalf of this country and this God, we are here to celebrate a party that will not end. So, as I know you can, please be as noisy and disobedient as possible towards Kid f***** *Głaz.”
Carlson’s full speech was shared on X by conservative commentator Benny Johnson and has received over 850,000 views. Ron Filipkowski, a former federal prosecutor and editor-in-chief of the liberal every day MeidasTouch, shared a clip of Carlson’s speech, which was viewed by greater than 150,000 people.
