Tottenham have confirmed that left-back Destiny Adogi will miss the remaining of the season following surgery on his left thigh.
Udogie has thrived in his first campaign within the Premier League and has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Spurs.
The Italian defender has caught the attention together with his ventures into midfield under Ange Postecoglou but revealed on Saturday night that his 2023-24 campaign is over.
In an announcement on their website, Spurs said: “We can confirm that Destiny Udogie has undergone surgery on his left quadriceps, which he injured during training earlier this week.
“The defender will proceed his rehabilitation with our medical staff and is expected to rejoin the squad during pre-season.”
The news of Udogie’s injury is premature for a Tottenham side that lost 4-0 at Newcastle last weekend. As a result, Spurs lost ground within the battle for Champions League qualification and are currently three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.
