What now? TikTok could sue, win and go back to normal. TikTok’s owner, ByteDance, could have simply decided to shut it down and continue operating. Or maybe sell TikTok in the US. These are really the only three outcomes and we have a year or less to find out which one it will be.
In this episode of The Vergecast, we discuss all the possible outcomes for TikTok. Then we try to find out which companies could buy the platform and which companies definitely wouldn’t, even though we really want to. There is no easy or obvious choice, but there are a few that seem to really work.
Then we take a quick spin, first looking at Tesla’s earnings and wondering what happens when the world starts viewing it – and valuing it – like a car company. We talk about Sonos apps, Apple sports and Qualcomm chips and that’s it.
