Rashid Al Shali from the founding family of Gulf Craft is all set to build on his maritime legacy.
The Emirati entrepreneur has launched a new brand called Merari to push the envelope in luxury yachting. Al Shali has enlisted UAE shipyard Enata to build the fleet and designer Timur Bozka to pen the inaugural model.
Al Shali said in a statement, “I come from a long family history in the marine industry, I have been surrounded by yachts and have worked with prestigious companies such as Gulf Craft, Dubai Marine, and Al Shali Marine since my early days. Is.” “While these experiences have been invaluable, they have also exposed me to the status quo in the sailing industry, which has fueled my desire for change. This has led me to partner with Anta and Timur Bozka.
Taking design cues from Enata’s “flying yachts” Foiler, Foiler USV, and Vatoz, the first 55-footer will feature a sleek carbon hull that ensures both strength and speed on high seas. The yacht will also incorporate materials such as Kevlar and titanium that are strong yet light. The exterior combines angular, futuristic lines with organic structures. According to Mirari, the superstructure is adorned with a dynamic glass dome inspired by the intricate structure of birds. The dome enhances structural integrity and ensures that the interiors receive ample natural light.
“This collaboration resonated with my passion for unique materials and design concepts,” adds Bozka. “Rashid sought not only innovative design, but also a distinctive sensory experience.”
Living quarters showcase contemporary furnishings, exquisite lighting, high-end materials and a subtle neutral palette. The upper deck is home to the indoor-outdoor saloon, dining area and helm, while the lower deck is furnished with two full-beam en-suite cabins, a galley and a small lounge. Heading outside, the aft deck is equipped with a BBQ and bar, a large sunpad in stern sports, and the bow is lined with more plush seating.
Like Enata’s Foiler, Mirarri will be equipped with the yard’s Wingman system that allows the owner to remotely control various aspects of the yacht, perform over-the-air updates, perform remote diagnostics, and implement preventive maintenance. Gives. Mirari has not yet shared any details regarding the propulsion.
The inaugural Merari yacht is currently under construction, with delivery scheduled for 2025.
“I can’t wait for the first Merari to be revealed to the world,” Al Shali said.
