Fox will strike again — twice — in the 2024-25 season.
The network has renewed its Rob Lowe-hosted game show for two more cycles, both scheduled to air next season. In addition, Fox and Lowe – who are also producers – have signed a first-look deal to develop unscripted projects.
The renewal comes just before Fox’s upfront presentation to advertisers on Monday, but it’s not a huge surprise: Quietly was one of the best-performing shows on the network this season. According to Nielsen ratings, it averaged 3.47 million viewers over seven days of linear viewing, and increased to 5.5 million viewers with streaming and other digital platforms.
“Fans loved the first season so much that we’ve ordered two more seasons of this groundbreaking game show, making our epic battle of the brains even bigger and bolder,” said Fox Network President Michael Thorne. Plans are already underway.” “Having a huge star like Rob Lowe as our host is also a huge win, and both our viewers and competitors can’t wait to see him in action again.”
Fox viewers will see a lot more of Lowe on air in 2024-25, as his scripted drama is also set to return in the fall after taking the 2023-24 season off.
As for the first-look deal, Lowe and Fox will jointly develop the unscripted project for the network. Any series resulting from the deal will be produced by Fox Alternative Entertainment, the network’s in-house unscripted studio.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this trend and the opportunity to create more unscripted projects with our partners at Fox,” Lowe said.
Talpa owns the format and produces the Fox show with Eureka Productions and Bigger Stage. John DeMoll, Mark Van Echterberg, Chris Kloner, Paul Franklin, Wes Denning, Sean O’Riordan, Shane Burnsrow and showrunner Anthony Carbone are executive producers, and Lowe produces.
