After 24 years and 12 seasons Curb your enthusiasm ended on Sunday.
Although fans are sad to see the series end, the finale is receiving rave reviews from critics and viewers alike.
Playing the long game, creator and star Larry David used the ultimate episode – titled “No Lessons Learned” – to silence those that disparaged the film Seinfeld final 26 years earlier.
The comedian and screenwriter co-created the comedy, broadcast from 1989 to 1998, with the predominant character Jerry Seinfeld. Although the show is there considered one of the very best sitcoms of all timethe finale disenchanted many fans and the forged went to prison.
Even though David is gone Seinfeld after season 7 he returned for the finale. In a 2014 Reddit “Ask Me Everything” post, the show legend said he was “pleased” with Seinfeld ending.
However, the 76-year-old made fun of himself and the criticism he heard Curba the ultimate episode by which David’s grumpy TV author was placed on trial, similar to the series Seinfeld to throw.
Fans appreciated the return, describing the finale as a “perfect sendoff.”
“Larry got stuck on landing. Absolutely hilarious last episode,” said @_shutupmatt on X, formerly Twitter.
“A fitting end to one of the greatest sitcoms of all time,” wrote Ryan Hicks.
“The one lesson Larry David learned in his entire life was this Seinfeld the final could have been a little better,” Jordan said.
“Curb your enthusiasm it was just a ruse on larry’s part to spite everyone who is a bitch and complains Seinfeld the finale of these last decades,” Alexa La Cerva joked.
“Larry is coming to an end Curb your enthusiasm as one great ode to Seinfeld the final seemed very appropriate,” said Jakob Kolness.

Curb dropped references to Seinfeld throughout Season 12. Jerry Seinfeld also alluded to a possible reunion during an October 2023 stand-up special in Boston, during which the 69-year-old made a cameo Curba final.

Rock star Bruce Springsteen, Trump whistleblower Alexander Vindman and Saverio Guerra (Mocha Joe) were among David’s enemies who testified against him in court, and Greg Kinnear guest-starred as a prosecutor.
Curb was nominated for 164th awards during its run, and the series won two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award and a Writers Guild of America Award.
During the performance in Today Sunday’s show, David explained why he decided to end the comedy after 12 seasons.
“I’m too old to really be on camera every week,” he said. “How can I continue to behave like this on this show? This is crazy.
“Yes, I can do it in my 50s, 60s and 70s. “I’m not going to enter the ’80s behaving like this.”
David admits, however, that he would miss working on the series, adding: “[I] “I can’t imagine I’ve ever had more fun in my life than I had on this show.”
