To stay competitive, some companies are trying to embrace AI, but they’re sometimes unsure of the best way to integrate it into their business. Team-GPT co-founder and CEO Ilya Valchanov thinks he has the answer to their worries.
In 2023, Valchanov and Elko Kacharov, Yavar Belakov, Katya Viptsarova, and Maria Valchanova launched Team-GPT As a software suite of AI tools (such as Cloud and ChatGPT) that companies can integrate into their workplace systems. Valchanov said the suite’s offerings make it easier for companies to manage these tools. Otherwise, they will have to have a separate subscription for each feature. He also said that there is an element of privacy.
“If you use your own models, you can deploy it on-premises and never share your data with OpenAI or Anthropic,” he told TechCrunch. So that means a company can use Team-GPT to deploy AWS servers, for example, without having to maintain data.
Team-GPT also offers online courses on the use of certain AI tools and has enterprise features such as platform administration and group mapping.
Valchanov says Salesforce and Johns Hopkins are already using Team-GPT with 45,000 clients. On Tuesday, the company announced a $4.5 million seed round led by True Ventures, with participation from Pact and angel investors, including former OpenAI employees, Valchanov said.
Still, as a founder based in Bulgaria, he said raising funds for his company is still quite difficult. “As we are people outside of Silicon Valley, who wanted to grow in Silicon Valley,” he said. He traveled to London to meet with European VCs and then spent two months in San Francisco building relationships to meet with some investors. “We met 85 VCs,” he said.
It took about three months to raise them. He counts OpenAI, Claude, Dust, and Langdock as competitors. What makes Team-GPT different, he says, is that it aims to serve mid- to large-sized companies that are interested in some customization and technology adoption with their data. .
Team-GPT will use the fresh capital to expand its team and expand product delivery.
