Duchess is jam.
Meghan Markle, 42, has a new lifestyle brand called American Riviera Orchard, which will include products such as jam jars.
But a royal expert says claims of “bullying” could damage the brand.
“Where there’s smoke there’s fire” Business Development Consultant Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital.
“There are too many examples of the ‘Sussex Survivors Club’ allegations not being true … In contrast, there has never been a single such report regarding Kate Middleton.”
Fordwich was referring to former Palace aide Samantha Cohen, who confirmed in a recent interview With Australia’s Herald Sun reporting that she was one of 10 staff questioned over allegations that Markle “bullied” staff during her time at the palace.
In 2017, Cohen, who had previously worked for Queen Elizabeth, was tasked with grooming Markle for the royal family.
Royal expert Tom Bower wrote in the Daily Mail on Tuesday, “Certainly, I believe that Ms Cohen would have quickly become enraged within six months or so, and that Meghan would either be out of touch with the royalty.” And the elements didn’t agree with, or failed to understand, what Samantha’s team members saw as an irresponsible egotism on both sides will
Cohen, who resigned in 2018, compared his former job to “working with teenagers,” according to Valentine Love of “Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown.”
Cohen told the Herald Sun she stayed longer than planned.
“I was only supposed to stay for six months but I stayed for 18 years – we couldn’t find a replacement, and when we did, we took him on a tour of Africa with Prince Harry and Meghan to show him the ropes, but he Also left while living in Africa.
The Times reported in 2020 that Communications Secretary Jason Knopf submitted a file after three female staffers alleged that Markle was “bullying” them.
In the email correspondence, Knopf accused the palace’s human resources department that Meghan harassed two PAs “outside the home.”
At the time, Harry and Markle denied the allegations, and Markle’s representatives said they were “the latest attack on her character”.
However, Cohen’s new interview has brought the “bullying” claims back into the spotlight, just as Markle is launching her own lifestyle brand. And experts believe it could tarnish his budding business, American Riviera Orchards.
It is currently unclear whether Markle’s new products will be available for sale on Harry’s home soil.
The American Riviera Orchard website is currently static, only asking visitors to provide their email if they want to be notified of “product, availability, and updates” from the brand.
The brand’s bio reads, “From Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.”
