Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to star in JJ Abrams’ untitled feature at Warner Bros.
If a deal goes through, Jackson will be a veteran therapist among Hollywood’s young talent. The call sheet already includes Glenn Powell, Gina Ortega, and Emma Mackie in what is expected to be a trifecta of leads for the project.
Abrams wrote the script for the feature, whose logline and details are being kept under wraps. At one point it was speculated that time travel was involved, but sources say that is not the case. Abrams is developing a bad robot.
The feature is expected to shoot in the UK in the spring.
Jackson has had a busy 2024 with appearances in several films and series, including Matthew Vaughn’s All-Star Caper and the Netflix adaptation of August Wilson’s play, directed by Malcolm Washington. He is also part of the ensemble of Peacock’s crime miniseries, which also stars Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard. The latter debuted in October.
In Cannes, the actor has a sci-fi action film with Olga Kirilenko and Dave Bautista, and is set to shoot a Renee Harlan action film.
Jackson is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
