Harry Kane scored his fifteenth goal in 20 appearances against Arsenal as Bayern Munich drew 2-2 on the Emirates Stadium within the Champions League.
The former Tottenham striker had a robust performance within the north London derby and the summer change of scenery made no difference.
Here, the PA news agency compares his achievements against his long-time rivals.
Scourge of the Gunners
Kane, released by Arsenal as an eight-year-old and written off by then academy boss Liam Brady as “a bit chubby”, wasted no time in senior football showing them the mistakes they were making.
He scored each of his goals for Spurs in his first derby, a 2-1 win in February 2015, and five in his first 4 Premier League games against the Gunners.
He finally managed to remain at bay in Arsenal’s 2-0 win in November 2017 and in two League Cup games, but scored in nine of his first ten league derbies.
With 14 goals in 17 games, the Gunners were his third favorite Premier League opponent – he scored 18 against Leicester and 15 against Everton in 16 appearances against each of them. Only he, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney have scored greater than 14 goals against a single opponent within the competition, with Shearer scoring 20 against Leeds.
Spurs won six, lost six and drew five of their 17 matches, but won five, drew five and lost only two when Kane scored. Both League Cup matches resulted in a single victory each.
A goal for Bayern means he has scored a minimum of once against Arsenal in each of the last 10 seasons.
At location
On Tuesday, within the thirty second minute, Kane gave Bayern the lead from the penalty spot, which was a frequent source of goals for him in matches against Arsenal.
William Saliba’s foul on Leroy Sane gave Kane a probability and he calmly sent David Raya the flawed way.
Of the 15 goals he has now scored for the Gunners, eight have been penalties – five of the six between 2016 and 2019, with each of the last three coming in May 2022.
The England captain has a 100% penalty kick success rate against Arsenal in his profession.
