After announcing half of its winners at a ceremony in Los Angeles in March, the GLAAD Media Awards handed out the rest of its trophies at a ceremony in New York on Saturday.
, and Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers’ podcast were among the projects recognized at the 35th annual awards show, which honors media for fair, accurate and inclusive representation of LGBTQ people and issues.
Special honors were also presented to Jennifer Hudson (who received the Excellence in Media Award) and Orville Peck (who received the Vito Russo Award, presented by Jennifer Lawrence) at the New York ceremony hosted by Ross Mathews. The night featured special performances by Lorraine Allred and Scott Hoying and presenters including Uma Thurman, Benny Feldstein, Don Lemmon and the cast.
