Talks are ongoing between Bayern Munich and Austrian boss Ralf Rangnick over his new manager.
Rangnik, 65, Confirmed last week The Bundesliga club approached him about the job.
Bayern want Rangnick to replace current manager Thomas Tuchel, who will. Leave at the end of the season.
It is believed that Bayern believe Rangnick can recreate success at the club after ending Bayer Leverkusen’s run of 11 Bundesliga titles in a row this season.
Rangnick is currently preparing to lead Austria in the upcoming European Championships in Germany.
Bayern are not in talks with another manager and a decision is expected by the end of this week.
Rangnick is believed to be interested in the role as an opportunity to shake things up at a time of turmoil at the club.
Last week, he hinted that whatever decision he makes won’t be about money.
“It doesn’t matter to me,” Rangnik said.
“For me it’s about other things: Can I make a difference? Is there a chance to develop the team and be successful?
“My focus is on the Austrian national team. We are fully focused on the European Championship.”
Rangnick spent six months as interim manager of Manchester United during the 2021–22 season, as well as being in charge of Ulm, Stuttgart, Hannover, Hoffenheim, Schalke and RB Leipzig.
