Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique says his only focus is on winning the Champions League semi-final second leg against Borussia Dortmund.
PSG went into Tuesday’s match 1-0 down after last week’s defeat at Dortmund.
But instead of focusing on needing to score twice to progress without penalty, Enrique is just focused on winning the second leg.
“The goal is not to win by two goals, but to win,” Enrique said.
“If you think you have to score two goals that seems like a big goal.
“We just want to play and score. If we score in the 89th minute, it will continue. We don’t need to score now, we just want to win the game.”
Nicklaus Krug’s first-half strike separated the two teams at Signal Iduna Park in Germany last week and while Enrique’s main goal is to get PSG into the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in three seasons, has potentially highlighted the dangers of concentration. So much for trying to settle the game in 90 minutes.
“You can score twice in two minutes, but you can also concede a goal,” added Enrique.
“We have to focus 100 percent on attack and defense. If we concede one goal, it’s not serious, we have to stay calm. If we concede two goals too quickly, our opponents have to react.
“It will be an even game with a high level of play on and off the ball, so it will be tough for both teams.”
