By royal decree.
Prince William has previously dodged questions about his wife Kate Middleton’s whereabouts and the uproar surrounding her cancer announcement – but he’s finally answering some questions.
On Tuesday, the Prince of Wales, 41, chatted with some fans as he walked out and stopped by Newcastle’s James Place.
The two women, who sported Union Jack flags on their outfits, asked the prince about Middleton, 42, and their three children: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6.
“Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are doing?” a woman asked him in the shared footage Instagram By fan account WellsVideos.
“We’re all doing fine, thanks,” William replied.
“And of course Catherine?” Press the fan.
“We are all doing well,” Prince William said.
It was William’s third day of public engagements since Middleton’s cancer announcement. They visited mental health organization James Place in Newcastle and 2022 EarthShot Prize finalist Low Carbon Materials.
On March 22, Middleton stunned the world when she announced that she was undergoing “precautionary chemotherapy” for an unknown form of cancer discovered during abdominal surgery.
“Of course, this was a huge shock, and William and I are doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” the mother of three said in her video.
“As you can imagine, it’s taken time. It’s taken me time to recover from major surgery to start my treatment. But, the most important thing is that we need George, Charlotte and Louis every day. It took time to explain things in a way that made sense to them, and to reassure them that I would be fine.
The princess did not say what type of cancer she is battling, but insisted she is “doing well and getting stronger every day.”
She described her husband Prince William as “a great source of comfort and reassurance”.
This health update comes after she has not been seen in public since January, leading to widespread speculation and conspiracy theories about her whereabouts.
Soon after, Prince William took a step back from duties to support his ailing wife, but he followed up in mid-April with an appearance at a food distribution charity in Sunbury-on-Thames, England. Returned to royal life.
Princess Kate’s health battle comes as 75-year-old King Charles is also battling an undisclosed form of cancer.
