Prince Harry’s protective gesture towards Meghan Markle during a milestone royal appearance is the focus of a new viral video after footage taken after Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022 resurfaced online.
Harry and Meghan will celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary in May. Since stepping down from the monarchy in 2020, the couple has spoken in-depth about their relationship in a number of media ventures. In his memory SpareHarry recounted the events that unfolded on the day of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s death and how he was in the UK at the time to attend charity events with Meghan.
Despite the strain between the couple and members of the royal family after Harry and Meghan bared it in an interview with Oprah Winfrey a year ago, they reunited after the monarch’s death.
On 10 September 2022, two days after the Queen’s death, the couple made their first joint appearance with Prince William and Princess Kate in more than two years. Outside the gates of Windsor Castle, in-laws presented a united front in grief to pay floral tributes and meet members of the public.

The prince was caught on camera at the event placing his hand lovingly on his wife’s back as the couple met fans.
Titled “He’ll Always Cover Her Back!” The clip has so far been viewed more than 22,000 times, received more than 4,800 likes and over 150 comments, many of which praised the couple.

Harry and Meghan’s PDA has not always been universally welcomed during the mourning events for the late Queen between her death and state funeral. When the couple were seen holding hands during the King’s Laying-In ceremony at Westminster Hall on September 14, some social media users and commentators slammed it as disrespectful.
That didn’t stop the couple, who were reportedly spotted holding hands again five days later during the Queen’s official funeral at Westminster Abbey.
