Philippe Clement says Rangers have offered to play the twice-rescheduled game against Dundee on Thursday and joked they’d play “on Mars” if crucial.
After a second pitch inspection, Dens Park suffered rain from Wednesday’s match, which was postponed.
Rangers have accused Dundee of “negligence and unprofessionalism” and the Tayside club will face disciplinary motion after their fifth match postponement this season.
“It could have been avoided by playing somewhere else,” Clement said.
“We were even prepared for today’s match [Thursday]so shortly before the Ross County game [on Sunday]. We proposed this option, but it was apparently not accepted.
“It obviously wasn’t possible to have another venue or play another venue today.”
The SPFL says discussions are ongoing about rescheduling the fixture, including the possibility of the match being played away from Dens Park if crucial.
Rangers manager Clement, who insists he’ll know by 12pm BST on Tuesday where the match shall be played, insists Rangers’ criticism was not aimed toward his Dundee counterpart Tony Docherty or the club’s players .
“That’s 30% of home games postponed this season,” Clement said of Dundee.
“I can’t remember this happening anywhere in over 30 years of football across Europe, so it’s a big problem.
“Our attitude is that regardless of the decision we make, we are going to win games. There are no excuses for this.
“We will play behind closed doors. If they ask us to play on Mars, we will fly to Mars, we will fly in a plane to get three points. That’s what it’s all about.”
Clement highlighted the family who traveled from Wales for the original date of March 17 and the first rescheduled date of April 10, as well as other fans who made long journeys to attend the match.
“It’s really bad for the image of football in Scotland,” he commented. “This must be avoided.”
Meanwhile, Mohamed Diomande will miss Sunday’s trip to Ross County after minor surgery on Thursday, but is not expected to be sidelined long-term.
