Lyon beat French rivals Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes to upset Barcelona in the Women’s Champions League final.
Selma Bacha gave Lyon the perfect start, scoring with a low drive from the edge of the box after three minutes to put her side 4-2 on aggregate.
PSG hit back shortly before half-time when Tabitha Chaunga fired the ball into the bottom right corner.
Melchi Dumornay scored a late goal to give the visitors breathing space.
A record eight-time Champions League winners Lyon and defending champions Barcelona, who beat Chelsea in the other semi-final, will meet in the final on May 25 at Athletic Bilbao’s San Mames.
Lyon were idle for a long time in the reverse fixture, failing to score until the 80th minute before netting three times in six minutes to complete a stunning turnaround and set a record. 3-2 win on home soil.
It was a different story in the capital where Lyon struck after 125 seconds when a corner routine sent the hosts reeling.
Bacha worked one-on-one with Dumornay directly from the set-piece and was given plenty of space to set himself up on the edge of the penalty area before picking out space perfectly in the corner.
There was a good response from PSG and the game was end-to-end, with both sides having half chances. A fine reaction from PSG goalkeeper Constance Piccad prevented an own goal when Jade Le Guille inadvertently deflected the ball towards goal while trying to stop a Leon cross.
With the minutes ticking into the first half, PSG’s hard work paid off as Chaunga grabbed his 28th goal of the season in all competitions.
Chawinga received the ball just outside the box and accepted the invitation to shoot as the defenders retreated, firing firmly and accurately.
Lyon used all their experience in the second half as they chose their moments carefully to attack, knowing that the hosts had to push forward for an equaliser.
As the game unfolded, Picaud was called into action by Dumornay, Lindsey Horan and Amel Majri.
The pressure eventually told when Lyon hit the counter and Haiti international Dumornay, who also scored in the first leg, rounded off a lovely flowing move to put the game to bed with nine minutes remaining.
