Oliver Hudson, son of actor and musician Bill Hudson and famous Hollywood star Goldie Hawn, explains his comments that the actress caused him “trauma”.
“So far out of context,” he told his 47-year-old Hudson Kate Hudson’s sisterin your podcast, “Sibling worship.”
“I’m afraid to even talk about it to make it even worse because everything is so out of context.”
He added: “If you listen to the whole thing, you’ll see that it’s more about my child’s feelings at that moment and not about me and how I feel about my mom as a parent.”
The “Rules of Engagement” star then opened up about the deep love he has for his 78-year-old mother.
“I don’t know who I would be without my mother,” he said. – I am unable to even understand it. The love I even have for her and the respect and honor I even have for her are above all else. So it was just completely taken out of context.”
Kate, 44, jokingly replied that she immediately knew her brother’s words could be misinterpreted.
“You used such clickbait words,” the “Almost Famous” star said. “I can’t leave my brother alone for a second!”
Last week, the “Dawson’s Creek” alum said he sometimes felt “unprotected” by his famous mom as a baby.
“Interestingly, it was my mother who experienced the most trauma because she was my primary caregiver and I was with her all the time, so I felt unprotected at times,” he said on the time.
Although Hawn was an “amazing mother,” he often felt secondary to other facets of her life.
“She would have worked. She had recent boyfriends that I didn’t really like,” he noted. “This is my very own opinion as a baby who did not have a dad and needed her presence.
“And she just wasn’t [there] sometimes and she showed up much more than even my dad, who wasn’t there.”
Hawn married Bill in 1976 and gave birth to Oliver and Kate before the couple separated in 1980, with their divorce finalized two years later.
Shortly after the divorce, Hawn began is dating Kurt Russellwith which she has been associated since then.
To work through his feelings about his childhood, Oliver signed up for this system Hoffman Process Course.
