Mother-daughter duo Laura Dern and Gia Harper unveil Mother’s Day campaign with Roger Vivier.

Actress Laura Dern and her 19-year-old daughter Gia Harper are appearing together in the brand’s first-ever campaign for French luxury accessories brand Roger Vivier’s Mother’s Day project.

The images are sweet, nurturing and intimate, shot by LA-based photographer, director and writer Luke Gilford, who has directed campaigns for Valentino, Apple and Mercedes-Benz — as well as Kesha and Christina Music Videos for Aguilera.

Both Dern and Harper are pictured wearing some of Roger Vivier’s most iconic creations, such as the 1965 Belle Vivier shoes, a brand classic, and the Viv’ Choc handbag by the brand’s creative director Gherardo Felloni, along with a jeweled satin headband, an embroidered vest and a patent leather belt.

Filoni first met Harper when Dern took her to the 2022 Roger Vivier Dinner in Los Angeles. Clicking instantly, Filoni says he was drawn to the young actress’ talent, her beauty and her character. “It was extremely difficult to choose the final images after this shoot because they were all so good,” added Filoni.

Guilford and Filoni sought to capture the similarities between the iconic Roger Vivier products, as well as the mother-daughter duo, and how grace and sophistication can be passed down through the generations. The campaign aims to showcase classic elegance combined with a contemporary sensibility, and to show how style can be transitioned while maintaining its relevance.

Darren, in a campaign statement, says she has long admired the brand. “I bought my first pair of Belle Vivier shoes in Paris many years ago, and have loved the house ever since. Collaborating with Gia on this campaign has been an incredibly special experience because together Kar and for the first time there was an opportunity to celebrate our shared love for fashion.

Harper added in the campaign notes, “This is my first brand campaign, and collaborating with my mother on this has been an extraordinary experience that will undoubtedly be valuable. Harper was born into an entertainment family, with an Academy Award-winning mother in Dern and a Grammy-winning father in Ben Harper, as well as grandparents Diane Ladd, Bruce Dern and singer-songwriter Alan Harper. So it should come as no surprise that Gia Harper is pursuing acting, albeit in an appearance in 2022. The Allen Show, Laura Dern noted that it was important to her that her daughter finish school and have a normal childhood. Along with Ben Harper, Dern also has a son, Ellery Walker Harperwho is a musician.
