Lara Trump criticized the Democratic National Committee after it released an AI-generated song mocking her singing career following her recent election as co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
Lara Trump – the wife of Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump – has gained attention for her vocal efforts over the past few months. On September 29, the former television producer released a canopy of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1989 song “I Won’t Back Down.”
After the song’s release, Lara Trump alleged that music streaming platforms banned the song in the background – that is, made it almost inconceivable to search out – due to her name. Her decision to make use of the song was called a “cheap move” on social media because of the cease-and-desist letter Petty’s family sent the former president after he used the song at a 2020 campaign rally.
Controversy surrounding the song escalated in November when Lara Trump released an acoustic cover of it.
On March 28, Lara Trump announced her latest single “Anything is possible” on social media. The next day, the DNC released an AI-generated song titled “Party’s Fallin’ Down”.
“We like our song better, @LaraLeaTrump” – X account @DNCWarRoom sent in reply for the announcement of Lara Trump’s latest song. The post included a fraction of the song DNC.
DNC Chairman Jaime Harrison he wrote on the social media platform: “Guys, the song of summer has come early this year! @DNCWarRoom just released our first single “Party’s Fallin’ Down” to honor Lara Trump, who was more focused on her music career than saving the sinking of the RNC.”
The song’s chorus includes the words “Oh, Lara, Lara, what have you done? / The party’s falling apart, it’s not fun anymore / Oh, Lara, Lara, can’t you see? / Your leadership is sinking Trump’s GOP.”
During an appearance on Fox News HannityLara Trump criticized the DNC for “specializing in an AI-generated song to in some way mock me.” She added that the song “wasn’t even funny.”
Newsweek reached out to RNC and DNC officials for comment via a request form on the website.
In a press release, Harrison had this to say about the single: “Lara Trump’s music career is the same as her time at the RNC thus far: embarrassing, frivolous and a waste of money.
“But we can appreciate the effort, and we wanted to help Lara tell her own story about how she and her fellow MAGA extremists at the RNC are broke and losing election after election. That’s why we’re excited to release our first single, ” Party’s Fallin’ Down,” a summer party anthem about the dissolution of the RNC under Lara Trump and the rest of the new ultra-MAGA band.
“We haven’t put that much time and money into creating our song because we’re busy raising funds at record levels and supporting Democrats on the ballot, but Lara is more than welcome to continue making music instead of trying to win the election,” Harrison concluded.
In March, Lara Trump was unanimously elected co-chair of the RNC after Donald Trump endorsed her for the position.
That same month, she faced criticism from Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former adviser to Donald Trump, over her speech The best time with Alex Steinthrough which the host theatrically abused the doll.
On the show, the host asked Lara Trump to carry the baby and sign an autograph. After the episode, Stein – a right-wing commentator known for disrupting local government meetings and public confrontations with politicians – produced the doll and threw it off-screen, expressing frustration with the other host for bringing children to the set. Later, Stein subjected the doll to further abuse, including hitting it on the head with a shoe.
Griffin, who often shares her thoughts and criticism of Donald Trump as co-host of ABC’s show View and as a political commentator, she shared her thoughts on the clip that was spread on X.
“This is what the new RNC leadership is going to do: interview the sexist fringe guy who harassed staffer Nikki Haley,” Griffin wrote on X. “When will the @GOP realize that millions of lifelong Republicans don’t want to be associated with the fringe , crazy nonsense that reinforces it?”
In February, BlazeTV personality Stein sparked backlash when he approached a few of Haley’s female employees on camera before an event in Dallas and called them “sluts.” He also asked for details about their alleged accounts on OnlyFans, a subscription platform popular with sex employees. Later, Stein publicly apologized to the employees through his program.
Lara Trump recently promised to make use of her latest position at the RNC to make sure that all of the organization’s funds go to helping her father-in-law’s re-election in November. The statement raised concerns that the funds could be used for Donald Trump’s bills and that Republican candidates who didn’t receive votes could be harmed.
