Keck Palmer had her own scary experience filming “Scream Queens.”
The 31-year-old actress claims in her upcoming memoir, “Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative,” that one of her white co-stars – whom she refers to as “Brenda” A racist comment on the set of the Fox dark comedy series that aired from 2015 to 2016.
Palmer, per Los Angeles Timessaid the offensive comment was made after an altercation with another “Brenda” co-star. Palmer tries to calm “Brenda” by suggesting that everyone “have fun and respect each other.”
In response, “Brenda” told Palmer, “Keke, literally, that’s just not it. Who do you think you are? Martin F. King, Luther King?”
Palmer told the LA Times that she did not reveal her co-star’s identity so that the story would not be about “Brenda.”
“It was such a weighty thing that she said, but I didn’t allow that weight to weigh on me, because I know who I am,” the “No” star told the publication.
“I’m not a victim. This is not my story, honey,” he added. “I don’t care what her ass said. If I let what she did cripple me, she will.”
Palmer starred in “Scream Queens” alongside Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Billie Lord, Abigail Breslin, Skyler Samuels and Jamie Lee Curtis.
After Palmer’s interview surfaced, fans took to social media to speculate which of her co-stars made the alleged comment.
An X-user claimed it was Michelle Orr, 38 Screenshot included. Showing that Palmer follows Roberts, Breslin and Lorde, but not Michelle, supports his views on Instagram.
“That explains why Keck and her didn’t share any screen time in season 2,” another person Wrote in reply.
Elsewhere in her book, Palmer claims that “Scream Queens” creator Ryan Murphy once “ripped her off” and told her she was unprofessional over a phone call over a disagreement about her filming schedule. .
“It was like I was in the dean’s office,” he said in his memoir. “He was like, ‘I’ve never seen you act like that. I can’t believe you, of all people, would do something like that.’
The “Hustlers” actress recalled that she apologized to Murphy, 59, and assumed the beef had been squashed — days after she spoke to one of her co-stars in her trailer.
“I said, “Ryan talked to me and I think he’s good, that’s fine,” and she was like, “That’s bad,’ Trying to scare me or something, which was a little annoying,” Palmer shared.
She said that, prior to the incident, she thought she would be an actress who would play a lead role in Murphy’s projects such as Roberts, 33, and Sarah Paulson. However, Palmer believed that the possibility was over because of their fight.
“I’m still not sure Ryan cared, or got it, and that’s okay because he was just focusing on his business, which is not a problem for me,” she wrote in her book. “But what I do know is that even if he doesn’t care, and even if I never work with him again, he knows that I also see myself as a business.”
