Jennifer Lopez has avoided talking directly about estranged husband Ben Affleck while reacting to her latest compliment.
Affleck, 52, said in a recent interview Fun tonight that Lopez, 55, is “fantastic” in her new film “Unstoppable.”
While attending the “Unstoppable” UK premiere on Tuesday, Lopez was told about a comment by an ET reporter, who asked her how she would “describe her production.”
In response, the “Dance Again” singer expressed her love for the entire cast and crew of the film, rather than just her estranged husband.
“I would like to say that the entire cast and everyone behind the scenes is wonderful and wonderful,” He said.
Affleck similarly praised the entire “unstoppable” team during his own ET interview days before the UK premiere, which he did not attend.
“‘Unstoppable’ is a very different movie than that, but in a way, it’s connected to the passion of really talented artists,” he said while promoting his new film “Small Things Like These.” A certain kind of thing that I think we’re drawn to. We truly believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved are deeply connected to the story.
“We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of that.”
“Unstoppable” tells the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and defied expectations to win the national collegiate wrestling championship in 2011.
Lopez plays Robles’ mother. The rest of the cast includes Jharrel Jerome (as Robles), Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle and Michael Peña.
Affleck and his best friend Matt Damon produced “Unstoppable” through their production company, Artists Equity.
The director, William Goldenberg, gave insight into the making of Affleck and Lopez’s dynamic following their breakup at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
“It’s always been about the movie, and it’s his personal business,” he told E! News “We just kept it about the film. We just kept our eyes on the prize.
Lopez filed for divorce on Aug. 20, the former couple’s second wedding anniversary.
He listed the date of their separation as April 26.
Before their split, Affleck talked about how much he loved working on “Unstoppable” with his then-wife.
“What fun to do with him, what a joy, to see him so good, to go to work with his wife, to go to work with his best friend,” he shared. CBS Sunday Morning In March 2023.
The former couple worked on another upcoming film, “Kiss of the Spider-Woman,” an adaptation of the 1992 musical based on the 1976 novel.
They co-produced the film and Lopez also played the lead role. She was working on the film in New York the day of her official split from Affleck (April 26).
After Lopez filed for divorce, a report claims the singer did everything she could to make Affleck “happy” during their marriage, but had to deal with her “dark” side. .
An insider also claimed that Affleck’s “random mood swings” contributed to their split.
“The world was rooting for him,” the source added, “but who he said he was and who he turned out to be were two different people.”
