Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz ditch their domestic bliss to return to espionage in the trailer for Netflix’s action comedy feature.
Directed by Seth Gordon, the film is slated to release on January 17, 2025. Kyle Chandler, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts, Rylan Jackson and Glenn Close are among the cast.
It centers on Matt (Fox) and Emily (Diaz), who give up their lives as CIA spies to start a family but find themselves back in their former roles when their cover is suddenly blown. I have to come back.
The trailer shows Diaz flourishing with renewed enthusiasm as she admits, “For the first time in a really long time, I felt alive again. I felt like a bitch again.”
Later, Fox learns that detective work still comes easily to him: “Just like old times, kid. Just like old times.”
Gordon () directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Brendan O’Brien. Producers include Gordon for Exhibit A; Geno Topping, Peter Chernin and Sharla Sumpter Bridget for Chernin Entertainment; and Beau Bowman for Good One Productions. Foxx, O’Brien, Datari Turner and Tim Lewis serve as executive producers.
The project marks Diaz’s first live-action feature film since 2014, in which Foxx co-starred. The duo also shared the screen in 1999.
was in production in Atlanta when Fox was hospitalized in April 2023 with an undisclosed medical problem. The film remained in production and filming was scheduled to wrap, a Netflix source said at the time.
