Following discussions with head coach Nick Montgomery, Hibernian stated that “performance must improve”.
The Easter Road club were condemned to finish the season in the underside six of the Scottish Premiership table on Saturday after a 1-1 victory over Motherwell.
Hibs finished fifth within the Premiership last season under Lee Johnson and Montgomery was appointed in September on a three-year contract.
“Finishing the season in the bottom six is simply unacceptable.”
“The club has made significant progress off the pitch over the last 12 months. With this in mind, we want to assure fans that the most important thing for us is progress on the pitch and performances on the pitch. We understand this needs to be addressed urgently.”
The Edinburgh-based side says a full review of the club’s football structure will likely be carried out at the side of Black Knight Football Club, the group that owns 25% of Hibs.
