Machine Gun Kelly takes fans behind the scenes of the blood, sweat and tears that went into his viral blackout tattoo.
The 33-year-old “Bad Things” rapper shared the clip Instagram on Monday, which he began by showing his previously coloured tattoos on the upper body before covering most of them with black ink.
“Today is the day I start making physical changes to my body. We’ll see what it would be,” says MGK on camera.
The video continues to document the various hours of intense needling needed to realize his recent look – including several shots of what gave the impression to be blood on his arm and the goose elbow that had swollen from the constant attention.
“We did about seven sessions,” he told the camera again in an update. “It’s been about two weeks since we began. It was essentially the most painful experience I even have ever experienced in my life.
The artist’s recent ink, “Species: Sadboy,” covers his entire upper body, including his nipples and belly button, which he loved in Monday’s video.
“Wait, is that my belly button?” he asked the cameraman, showing a close-up of his darkened navel. “Oh my God, look at my fucking belly button,” he laughed.
MGK also included a shot of himself sitting in a hyperbolic oxygen chamber “to heal faster.”
“So… what else should I buy now,” he wrote under the clip.
In last month’s piano rap ballad “Don’t Let Me Go,” MGK claimed he “had a breakdown” before undergoing appearance-altering surgery.
“I wish I listened like I wish they could understand me for once / I had a breakdown and I tattooed my whole body except for one line / I’m fine,” he raps.
His recent murals was done by tattoo artist Roxx, who told The Post in February that they accomplished the tattoo over Christmas in New York.
“MGK was the toughest client she has ever worked with,” a Roxx representative told us.
