Google is working on a recent Android feature that protects against phishing attempts and malware.
Android expert Mishaal Rahman was informed in regards to the “Safe Browsing on Android” page that was appearing on some Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices. As the screenshots provided show, Safe Browsing warns users about security threats. “For example, you may receive an alert if you click on a link in a news app that takes you to a known phishing site.”

On the identical page, users also noticed the “Use Live Threat Protection” feature. When this feature is enabled, it should apparently provide “more accurate threat detection.”
According to Federal Trade CommissionPhishing scams often are available in the shape of emails or text messages. These include urgent actions resembling clicking a link to update your payment information or confirm your identity based on alleged suspicious activity.
Rahman explained that Safe Browsing on Android likely involves checking apps and web sites against Google Play Services’ list of known threats via the SafetyNet Safe Browsing API. Since Google Play Services provides this feature, it should be robotically included in Android updates.
