Former Scotland striker Ally McCoist told TNT Sports: “Sancho looks like a completely different player. His body language is like a Man Utd signing.
“You can tell a lot from body language and he wants to play with people. He certainly looks young.
“It’s confidence, he’s got his mojo back. He’s in an environment where he’s liked and he looks like a different footballer.
Sancho finished the match with 12 successful dribbles, the most by a player in a Champions League match this season.
It was the most by a player in a Champions League semi-final since Lionel Messi against Man Utd (16) in April 2008, and the most by an English player.
With performances like this, it’s no wonder Dortmund want Sancho to stay next season.
But, for the loan to repeat next season, or turn into a permanent transfer, it would require significant compromise from all sides.
Dortmund cannot match Sancho’s salary at United. But United, under intense pressure to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules, simply cannot afford to hand over an asset of this size.
It is clear that Sancho has no future at Old Trafford if Ten Hague remains as manager. But he may not, leaving open the possibility of a return to United even if the feeling remains that he will play elsewhere next season.
