There’s no such thing as bad publicity, right?
The bar and restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee, where country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested for allegedly throwing a chair off a sixth-story roof, modified its marquee to make a funny reference to the incident.
“OUR PIGS FLY, OUR CHAIRS DO NOT,” he proclaimed on the tent on Tuesday.
Wallen, 30, was arrested Sunday in Nashville for allegedly throwing a chair off Rodney Scott’s Whole Hog BBQ, a rooftop restaurant on the highest floor of Chief’s on Broadway, which is owned by fellow country singer Eric Church.
The boss is on Broadway the official Instagram account shared the photo sign.
“See you at Chief’s,” the caption was written under the photos.
Singer-songwriter Kyle Elliott responded to the Instagram post with a comment, referencing lyrics from Church’s 2009 hit “Smoke a Little Smoke.”
“I turned up the silence and threw the chair,” he wrote.
Wallen was arrested on suspicion of the crime just after 10:45 p.m. Sunday.
According to the police department, the seat allegedly landed just 10 feet away from Metropolitan Nashville Police officers.
Wallen (“Wasted on You”) was booked into the Davidson County Jail just after 12:30 a.m. Monday on three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.
He posted $15,250 bail and was released around 3:30 a.m. Monday.
Wallen’s ex, KT Smith, with whom she shares a 3-year-old son, responded to the controversy on Tuesday, denying that it had anything to do with her surprise marriage to Luke Scornavacco.
“While it may seem related chronologically, I have no evidence to believe that the incident had anything to do with the recent marriage announcement,” Smith, 29, told the Daily Beast.
“I can’t speak for Morgan, but I am praying for him in the best possible way. I pray that this is just a setback and that he returns to the good path he was on before.”
Chief’s is a recent place that opened on April 5. It is positioned on Broadway in Nashville and, in accordance with People magazine, offers “different floors for different experiences.”
Church, 46, opened his recent place with a special performance; plays a 19-day residency on the Neon Steeple performance space.
