Disney’s TV units are undergoing a major restructuring.
The media giant announced on Tuesday that it will close its ABC signature studio in a merger with 20th Television. Additionally, the comedy and drama development teams at Hulu and ABC are merging.
Kerry Burke, president of 20th TV, will continue to lead the combined studio. Simran Sethi has been named president of scripted programming at Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment and will lead development efforts. Disney says the restructuring will also result in about 30 layoffs.
