After months of anticipation, I’m just a number of days away from hopping on a plane to Mexico for my first ever wedding. The couple graciously provided dress codes and mood boards for every event throughout the three-day affair, so I used to be greater than able to get all dolled up and go all out for the festivities. Think full-length satin dresses, high heels and a lot of gold jewelry. Now that each one my outfits are sorted and able to pack, I can put together the wedding guest makeup essentials that can complete any look.
My favorite foundation is sort of minimalist: a luminous, natural base (I often only wear foundation), shiny lids, daring blush and my signature deep red lip. For special occasions, I improve my look with a number of easy but effective changes. First, apply foundation and/or concealer over your base to round out the bottom, then swap out the lip gloss for a daring eye shadow, and at last apply a striking coat (or three) of blue mascara. Given the expected heat, I’ll seal all of it in with a heavy-duty setting spray.
