If only she could turn back time.
Cher has revealed that actor Val Kilmer was one of the only celebrities to ever break up with her.
But during an appearance SiriusXM’s “The Howard Stern Show” This week, the legendary singer opened up about her past romances.
At one point, Stern asked the 78-year-old “Strong Enough” hitmaker if the men in her life “expect great sex” from her given her icon status, to which she replied, “Yes, and they got it.”
“You can tell by the reaction,” he added, to which Stern asked, “Who would ever leave you?”
“A few men, a few men,” the “Believe” singer said. “Look, I was madly in love with Val Kilmer and he’s gone.”
Cher, whose real name is Charlene Sarkissian, dated the “Top Secret” actor from 1982 to 1984.
Kilmer, now 64, was 13 years Cher’s junior – a hot topic of debate at the time.
When asked why Kilmer called it quits, the “If I Could Turn Back Time” hitmaker said “he was really young.”
“Because sometimes you’re meant to be with someone that long,” she told Stern.
This isn’t the first time Cher has opened up about her strong feelings for Kilmer, revealing in 2021 that the exes met at a birthday party in the 1980s.
“I met him at a birthday party my friend was throwing for me. He said, ‘I invited this guy and I think either you or my friend who’s an editor like him. Will,'” he said at the time.
“We became friends because we constantly laughed at the same things. He would fall asleep and it was just a friendship. [at first]. It took a long time. Well, I guess there really isn’t much time.”
Singer said the pair’s age difference “was a big deal at the time.”
Elsewhere, Cher said she reached out to Kilmer after watching the 2021 documentary “Vail.”
“I said, ‘Valus Maximus, I’m sorry if I’ve done anything to offend you or hurt your feelings. I love you and your documentary was everything … I wanted that. Like the things that bothered me, the things that made me wonder, hurt, surprised, etc. You’re brave and even more wonderful,” he nicknamed each other Referring to said.
“He’s a true artist and renaissance man. He was sick and it didn’t stop him. He created his art and his life as an extension.
“Look at what he’s done and even the things he’s let you see that no one else would let you see. Even the worst things, he wanted to be in the documentary because he wanted to show you that Who is he,” he added.
Cher also dated another “Top Gun” actor – Tom Cruise. The couple met in 1985 when he was 23 and she was 38 at Madonna and Sean Penn’s wedding.
The singer himself has been married twice before. First with Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1969 and later with Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979. She shared son Chaz, 55, with Bono, who died in 1998 aged 62, and son Elijah, 48, with Allman, who died in 2017. Age 69
She is currently dating music executive and producer Alexander “AE” Edwards, 38.
