Carla Gugino said she’s still trying to grasp how in the original, at the age of 27, she was cast as a mother of two school-age children. Spy Kids movie.
During a recent interview with BuzzFeedThe actress who played (*27*) Cortes reflects on the time she shot the 2001 film alongside Antonio Banderas, Alexa PenaVega and Daryl Sabara. The motion adventure film directed by Robert Rodriguez tells the story of a family of spies.
“It’s funny because I was 27,” Gugino recalled. “It was a really beautiful double-edged sword because I love this movie so much. The whole experience was amazing and the videos will continue.”

“He replied, ‘I feel like I’m in search of a mother for my children.’ We talked about it, I auditioned for him, and he said, “I think if we do our job well, no one will ever question it.” Guards – said the actress, referring to the incontrovertible fact that she was younger for this role.
She added: “And it’s so funny how you said no one did it. Antonio Banderas and I worked together on a movie called Rhapsody from Miami David Frankel directed, so we had a bit of a story as well, and it was really nice to approach it that way.”
