Candace Owens called Meghan McCain “clinically obese” after she got into an argument with husband Ben Domenech on social media.
The world of viewers Editor-in-Chief Domenech on Thursday accused Owens of “blood libel” over a post she recently liked on X (formerly Twitter) that suggested the rabbi was “drunk with Christian blood.”
During an exchange about Owens on X with Dave Smith, the comedian told Domenech that “giving even the slightest bit of a charitable interpretation doesn’t change anything. Liking a Twitter (even a retweet), let alone a person’s actual words, is ridiculous. standard, especially when the person in question has spoken at length on the subject.”
On March 22, it was announced that the Daily Wire had parted ways with Owens. While the platform didn’t detail why, within the months for the reason that war between Israel and Hamas began, it has been widely documented that Owens has argued with retired Daily Wire editor Ben Shapiro over their opposing viewpoints on the conflict. .
Owens faced criticism from many fellow conservatives after she spoke out against Israel within the wake of its war with Hamas, which began after the Palestinian militant group attacked southern Israel in October. Since then, much of Gaza has been razed to the bottom in Israeli retaliatory attacks, and vast numbers of the Strip’s 2.3 million inhabitants have been forced to flee their homes.
Gaza health officials estimate that greater than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed since Israel began retaliatory attacks, and Israeli officials say about 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’ initial attacks.
In response to Smith’s post regarding Owens, Domenech, who linked up with the previous View co-host McCain in 2017, he said: “I see no reason to show love to Candace, who has been just terrible towards my family.”

“OK, fine,” Smith replied, “but at the same time you acknowledge that this is a personal, emotional disagreement for you.
“You are publicly calling someone an anti-Semite when she apparently just liked a tweet that defended her against spreading lies. Do those of us who look at this with sober eyes understand where this is grasping at straws?”
In his response, Domenech noted that “it’s not new that I despise Candace, I’ve been criticizing her for over 3 years.”
“I believe her embrace of anti-Semitism began with Ye [Kanye West] defense and I wrote about it then,” Domenech added. “I like it almost nothing in comparison. You are a serious person with whom I disagree; she is just a professional fraudster. I don’t respect trolls.”
The post caught the eye of conservative commentator Owens, who he wrote: “You despise? LOL You are a 42-year-old married man. Why do you feel so passionate about me? The feeling is not mutual, you are too pathetic to despise.
“You’re upset because when your wife publicly shamed ‘anti-vaxxers’ (namely Joe Rogan) for not getting the Covid vaccine, I told her the truth: No reasonable person should listen to Joe Rogan’s health advice from a clinically obese woman.”
“Health is not a clinically obese person agreeing to a rushed vaccine so they can lecture others on Twitter,” Owens continued. “Joe Rogan dedicates his life to health. Your wife doesn’t.”

“However, I understand that you are infatuated with me. My opinions tend to age well,” Owens said in a follow-up post. “I bet everyone who listened to your wife and got the vaccine wished they had listened to Joe Rogan instead.”
In a separate post, Owens commented: “Benny McCain literally married into the money of the military-industrial complex. “Any person who speaks out against Muslims dying will not be on his good side.”
“Candace is a junk dealer” – Domenech hit back. “No one serious in politics or the media respects her, including her former colleagues and employees who despise her. And my wife’s money comes from selling beer, which is great.”

McCain is the daughter of the late senator and Vietnam veteran John McCain and his wife Cindy McCain. Cindy McCain’s father was wealthy beer distributor Jim Hensley.
Owens said when asked for comment Newsweek in an announcement: “As Ben McCain admitted on Twitter yesterday, he and his wife have strangely waged an online campaign against me for over three years because he “despises” me.
“The source of this conflict is Meghan’s attack on Joe Rogan and me for our cautious stance on the mRNA vaccine for Covid-19. I warned my followers not to take medical advice from people like Meghan, who certainly didn’t seem particularly healthy – After all, I was right Many people regretted getting the vaccine, and Meghan and Ben have spent much of their lives tweeting since then about me”.
Newsweek reached out to Meghan McCain via email for comment.
Meghan McCain was critical of those who supported Kanye “Ye” West in late 2022 as he faced a storm of controversy over anti-Semitic remarks he made on social media and in interviews. Owens, who defended West when he later lost his business relationship, famously showed off the Yeezy fashion show in Paris wearing a shirt that read: “White Lives Matter.”
In December 2021, conservative commentators Meghan McCain and Owens sparred on X after the former mocked the latter for Donald Trump “schooling her” in an interview about the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines.
Owens then interviewed Trump and suggested that Covid-19 vaccines don’t work. The former president quickly interjected, explaining that vaccines are very effective at preventing hospitalizations and death. “People don’t die when they take the vaccine,” he said.
Daily mail columnist Meghan McCain wrote in X about Owens’ interview with Trump. While she noted that she doesn’t just like the presumptive Republican presidential nominee in 2024, she admitted to him that she opposes Owens.
“Trump coaching Candace Owens with facts and logic about getting vaccinated is a truly impressive sight. Credit where credit is due and I hate this guy,” McCain wrote.
Hours later, Owens reposted McCain’s comments and made offensive comments about her weight.
“Hey Meghan – did you know that the vast majority of people dying and/or hospitalized from Covid-19 are clinically obese? People like you love the vaccine because it allows you to pretend you care about your health,” wrote the podcast host. “People like me can clearly see these bulls***.”
From that moment on, the dispute between the 2 conservatives intensified. Both women took sharp shots at one another, undermining the opposite’s credibility.
“Lol I know it hurts when your golden God Trump calls you out on your anti-vaccine bulls***,” McCain wrote in one other tweet.
Owens shot back, “What’s this about going back to kindergarten?”
“You are spreading disinformation about vaccine safety. You are a threat to public health,” McCain later responded. “Fuck off.”
“Also ‘fuck you.’ Really, Meghan?” Owens responded with a shot. “So gutter and tacky.”
