Apple has unveiled the iPad Air 2024, now in two sizes for the first time thanks to a new 13-inch option. The company has also updated the 11-inch iPad Air. Both tablets are powered by the Apple M2 chip and will be available in blue, purple, starry and space gray colors. Prices for the tablet will start at $599 for the 11-inch model and $799 for the 13-inch model, and are available now on Apple’s website.
The new iPad Air has, as before, a single 12MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera, now centered on the long edge, or what I call One True Placement. It also supports the Apple Pencil Hover feature, which was previously only available on the iPad Pro.
With 128GB of memory on the base model, the iPad Air has twice the starting capacity of the 2022 Air. It still uses Touch ID on the power button. It has stereo speakers on the top and bottom.

The two new iPad Airs can use existing Apple Magic Keyboard accessories for iPad Pro.
This is the first update to the iPad Air since Apple released the M1 version two years ago, and it brings some clarity to the company’s confusing tablet lineup. Now, if you want to enjoy a larger screen without paying the premium for the iPad Pro, you can do so (and get funnier colors as a result!).
