Anne Heche’s son Homer Lafon has revealed money problems following his mother’s death in 2022.
The 22-year-old claims his late mother’s estate can’t pay its outstanding debts, meaning it can’t be foreclosed on until the balance is settled.
The “Another World” actress, 53, died on August 5, 2022, in Los Angeles, California after a horrific car accident. After being in a coma, the state declared him legally dead a week later.
In court documents Obtained by ETson of Heche, Jo Acts as an administrator. Regarding her late mother’s estate, said the estate is “not in a state of closure yet” as she cannot pay her pending charges.
Laffoon claims Heche’s estate consists of a “modest bank account, royalty payments and other residual income from pre-death projects.”
The estate has been slapped with seven claims from creditors, three of which are asking for $2 million.
One of the claims was filed by the couple who owned the home that crashed during the fatal accident, while the other was by a woman who was renting the property at the time.
Thomas Jane, formerly of Heche, is also among the creditors, seeking $149,106.04, according to the documents.
Along with the sale of the property, Lafon said he is “actively engaged in efforts to negotiate an appropriate settlement of claims against the estate.”
With $6 million in claims from creditors, the estate is struggling to pay its mounting debt, he added.
Lafon added that sales of his mother’s posthumous memoir, “Call Me Ann,” were “not strong” — and grossed less than $25,000.
Still, Lafon said he is “cautiously optimistic that all creditor claims can be resolved fairly and without litigation.”
The Post has reached out to Lafon’s attorney for comment.
It comes after Home Heche’s car, which was involved in an accident, has been restored and re-registered this week.
This property in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles is up for sale for $1.35 million.
The house, which has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, has been fully restored two years after the fatal accident.
