Alexander Skarsgård plays Harry Melling (Pale blue eye) I PlainA new feature from Poor things Producer Element Pictures Touted as a “funny and dirty romance with heart.”
Harry Lighton, who directed the BAFTA-nominated short; Warren Boyswill direct. Plain From his own script, inspired by the 2019 novel by Adam Mars Jones Box Hill. Cornerstone is handling worldwide sales of the films and will pitch the project to buyers at the Cannes Film Market next week.
Melling plays Colin, a weedy wallflower who lets himself get by in life until he meets Ray (Skarsgård), the impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club, whom he considers his own. Makes subordinate. Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life and introduces him to a community of kinky, eccentric bikers, but as Colin dives deeper into Ray’s world, he begins to question what 24/ 7 Submissive life is really for him?
Picture House Entertainment and September Films have optioned the film for the UK and Benelux respectively. BBC Films and the BFI are supporting the project. Lighton’s screenplay was produced with BBC Films.
Element Pictures’ Emma Norton, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe will produce alongside Lee Groombridge. Skarsgård is an executive producer with BBC Films’ Eva Yates, Picturehouse’s Claire Binns and September Films’ Pam Hermling. Luis Ortega is the BFI executive for the project. Pillion is set to begin principal photography in the UK this summer.
