Gypsy Rose Blanchard has officially filed for divorce from husband Ryan Anderson, in accordance with TMZ.
Blanchard filed for divorce on Monday and is the petitioner within the divorce suit.
Blanchard, 32 – who served seven years in prison for plotting to kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard – married Anderson, 37, in July 2022 after they became pen pals while she was behind bars .
They lived together after Blanchard’s release from Chillicothe Correctional Facility in Missouri on December 28, 2023.
However, in a non-public announcement on Facebook in late March, Blanchard announced that the couple had separated and that she was returning to her father and stepmother after a “difficult period” with Anderson.
Sources told TMZ that Blanchard claimed that Anderson became “super argumentative” after her release from prison, which hit her hard, causing their initial breakup and now their divorce.
Page Six also reported this she was afraid Anderson would hit her after they’d an argument before breaking up.
Anderson said he was stunned by their initial breakup, “wasn’t coping very well” and that “it came out of the blue.”
Blanchard is spending “quality time” along with her ex-fiancé, Ken Urker. According to TMZ, they met up in New Orleans for dinner, tattoos (matching dog tattoos) and sightseeing, but for now they’re still “just friends.”
Page Six revealed that Blanchard he also had a nose job after reuniting with Urker.
A Lifetime docuseries, “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” is within the works and can delve into her marital difficulties as cameras have been rolling since Blanchard was released on parole.
Blanchard was a victim of Munchausen by proxy perpetrated by her mother, Dee Dee, who claimed for years that Gypsy Rose suffered from various made-up illnesses and mentally and physically abused her daughter, including confining her to a wheelchair.
In 2016, Blanchard pleaded guilty to murder for her role within the murder of her mother along along with her then-boyfriend Nick Godejohn, who’s serving a life sentence without the opportunity of parole plus an extra 25 years for armed criminal motion.
Their story was dramatized within the Hulu series “The Act” starring Joey King as Gypsy, Patricia Arquette as Dee Dee and Calum Worthy as Godejohn. HBO covered this within the 2017 documentary Mommy’s Dead and Loved.
Blanchard also wrote the book “Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom.”
In January, Lifetime aired a three-part bombshell documentary about Blanchard called “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard,” featuring interviews with Blanchard, relations and former doctors.
